Luyef Biotechnologies recently participated in the closing event of the @ifanprograma Consortium Projects, where our researchers José Duguet (right) and Orlando Vargas (left) presented the results of our TAMEE (The Authentic Meat Eating Experience) project—focused on developing recombinant bovine myoglobin for the alternative meat industry. This project has allowed us to achieve key milestones in scaling the production of this innovative ingredient, which brings plant-based foods closer to the sensory profile of traditional meat, opening the door to wider consumer adoption, including flexitarians and meat-lovers.
As part of a collaborative effort with IFAN, this project demonstrates the importance of cross-disciplinary innovation in addressing sustainable food solutions. Luyef is proud to contribute to a future where plant-based options are not only sustainable but also more accessible and appealing to a broader audience.
